DropBox

The Heisler Law Group during the COVID pandemic found long delays for clients to receive mail from the firm. For this reason, we did as many organizations and found new and innovative ways to do business.

DropBox allows clients to receive documents and other files the same day they are placed on the system and the email is sent to them. Once the firm places the document or file on the DropBox system, our staff obtains a unique link, which is emailed to the client. For security, the link is only valid for 30 days.

KNOWN ISSUE(S):

LINK REQUEST YOU SEEK PERMISSION: This is caused by the entire link not being treated as a link by the person receiving the email. Sometimes the link portion stops after the .pdf . The solution is to take two steps. First is to COPY the entire link and second to PASTE the link in a web browser.

A second error we have found is when someone is trying to SAVE the document directly to their own Dropbox account. Our system requires you to FIRST download the document to your own device (not another DropBox account), then the client will be able to upload the document FROM their device (not from our Dropbox service) to their own Dropbox account. Put another way, you can’t save directly to your own Dropbox account without going to your own device first.

Request for access will not be honored nor seen

NOT RECEIVING EMAILS: The links are sent from staff members, and always from the same person. We suggest you SEARCH your email (including TRASH, DELETED, and SPAM) for @heisler.org .
